Alcohol and Energy Drinks: A Dangerous Mix
Before you go to that party, you may want to take a second look at the effects of mixing energy drinks with booze.
That's because a new study found that mixing alcohol with a high-caffeine energy drink makes people more prone to drinking way passed their limit compared to those who just drink booze with other mixers, like cranberry juice and vodka. Why does that happen?
Well, caffeine is a known stimulant that actually masks the effects of booze by keeping you alert which in turn makes you crave even more alcohol. It's a vicious cycle that can lead to dangerous consequences. So stay away from the rum and Redbulls.
