BARELY a month after he stunned the world, premièring aboard an Air-France flight to Paris, France, his highly anticipated mystery thriller, 'The CEO', Kunle Afolayan is about to embark on another landmark project that will further enlarge his profile.

The award-winning film maker cum director will be grooming lucky budding film makers who will in turn take Nollywood to its new heights with their creative prod

Tagged “Grooming Film Extrapreneurs with Kunle Afolayan”, the celebrated film maker is collaborating with Sahara Foundation to make this dream come true.

Entries are to be received from young film makers from across Nigeria who will be expected to submit a 15-minute documentary, exploring how hard Nigerians work to make legitimate money.

Through docu-film making, young Nigerian film makers who are not more than 35 years will channel their creativity and innovation to celebrate entrepreneurship in Nigeria using the theme, “My Nigeria, My Platform…Nigeria through entrepreneurs.” This theme is a concept targeted at redefining the perception of Nigeria as a country around the globe. The project will be used to shape a narrative for Nigeria that captures our enterprise and productivity as a people.

Speaking at a press parley to announce the project, held at Sahara Group office in Ikoyi, Lagos, the respected filmmaker said, “I have always wanted to do something like this before now. So, for me to be chosen for this project, it is my dream coming true through Sahara Group and I am excited about it.”

On the criteria to be used to determine the participants and eventually the winner of Extrapreneurship, the filmmaker said, he will be the lead faculty in determining the 20 interns and eventual winner.

“What I will be looking out for are the subject matter, we need to know if it goes in line with the theme of the project which is My Nigeria, My platform… Nigeria through an Extrapreneur. Others criteria are the production value, style of storytelling, camera, sound quality and aesthetics.”

Earlier in his address, the Managing Director of Sahara Group, Mr. Anthony Youdeowei said, the extrapreneurship framework is a concept centered on wealth creation and preservation.

“It is a practical step to go the extra mile unlike entrepreneurship which focuses mainly on income generation,' he said
