Govt. Needs to Invest in Nigerian Entertainment Industry…British High Commissioner to Nigeria
One of Nollywood's most adored actresses, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, recently hooked fans up with the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Artwright, to discuss issues affecting them with the British government and possible ways of helping Nigeria in sustainable development.
When Nollywoodgists.com sought the opinion of the UK commissioner on how the Nigerian government can help boost the entertainment industry towards becoming a tourism sector, he stated that the UK has continued to encourage the Nigerian government as Nollywood is currently placing high value in diaspora.
In his words, “We encourage the government to promote Arts & Entertainment industries. Nollywood is one great example with high export value.”
Decrying the current state of insurgency in the country, Paul, noted that the UK government has continued to kick against terrorism in Nigeria and is in support with the President Muhammadu Buhari's administration in the fight against insurgencies.
“UK consistently condemns terrorist attacks in Nigeria and stands with President Muhammadu Buhari in this fight. But need development too,” he added.
