My ‘Gerara Here’ Slang Was Divine---Francis Odega

Popular Nollywood comic actor, Francis Odega, has been in the industry for many, but lucky only smiled on him some months ago when a short clip from one of his films got the attention of US rapper, 50 Cents.

In the about 15 minutes except from his film, Francis Odega used the slang, Gerara Here, which set the internet on fire as earned him an instant fame.

The clip also landed him an endorsement deal with a telecommunication giant in Nigeria and made him rub shoulders with the A-list stars in the showbiz industry.

Francis told NET in a chat that he never knew the movie he acted in that gave him rapid fame would trend the way it did because the slang was not in the original script.

“Honestly, I didn't think it was going to become a global thing. In the script for real, that line 'Gerrara Here' was not included. I created it but not knowing it was going to blow. 'Gerara Here' was divine,” he said in the chat.
