Ogun Govt Destroys RCCG Church
The Ogun State Government has destroyed a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The Ministry of Urban Devenelopment and Physicla planning moved in to the site, located within the highbrow Obasanjo Hilltop along the Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta, the state capital with bulldozer and demolished the church which was still under construction.
It was observed that the church construction started in 2013, a building which had reached the roofing level before the demolition occurred.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr. Adejuwon Soyinka, said Governor Ibikunle Amosun had no hand in the demolition as the agency of government is only doing their job.
The Commissioner for Urban Development and Physical Planning, Mr. Adebola Adeife, however, declined comment on the demolition.
Also, Pastor Remmy Hassan, of the Redeemed parish said he was instructed by the church board not to comment on the matter.
“The authorities of the Redeemed Christian Church of God forbid me or any pastor from speaking to the press on this matter, Hassan said.”
