Daily Independent Crisis: Lagos NUJ Holds Protest Tomorrow
Lagos State chapter of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) will stage a demonstration to kick against the non-payment of salaries to some of its members working in Daily Independent Newspapers, Lagos.
It would be recalled that few weeks ago, Nollywoodgists.com broke the story of the shutting down of the news outfit over non-payment of salaries.
A statement issued on Tuesday by Chairman of Lagos NUJ, Deji Elumoye, urged journalists to turnout for the protest slated for Wednesday, October 28, 2015.
Elumoye said the rally is to “protest non-payment of 25 months salaries to our members in Daily Independent Newspapers” and it would hold “at the company's premises, WEMPCO Road, Ogba, by
9:30am.”
