Oil rich Warri, Delta State will again come alive on Thursday, October 1, 2015, for a new talent show called Warri'Us.

The programme will give untapped talents in the city the opportunity to go away with a whopping sum of N1million cash on that day.

Warri'Us, a show focused on music, is a platform to give youths in the area the opportunity to showcase their talent to a large audience. It is no doubt that Warri is blessed with talents, which is evident in comedy, music and movie industries in Nigeria.

Organiser of the event, Mitaire 'Mimi' Okumagba, who doubles as the founder of the famous Autoserve Entertainment Centre in Warri, all finalists will also go home with consolation prizes.

Mimi explained that he conceived this laudable initiative to showcase the untapped entertainment resources in the oil rich city.

"It is not in doubt that Warri has produced some of the leading entertainers in the country over the years. But I tell you, what you see, is less than 5 per cent of the talent that abound in this city. Warri is a city that has all the tribes present and aspiring to live in harmony.

“Inside this city, raw entertainment talents abound. As I said earlier, the 5 per cent we have seen are Ali Baba, I Go Die, Dede Mabiaku, Omawunmi, Gandoki, Harry Song, etc. yet, there is a crucial 95 per cent who are talented but unable to get to the world stage and rather turning to crime.

“It is this largely volatile raw materials that we are poised to harness and present to the world," Mimi said.

He stated further that Warri'Us is also to offer employment to the teeming youths in the area who are unemployed.

"What we are also offering, is not just the show alone, we are providing opportunities for the finalists to be signed onto record labels, movies, big recordings as the case may be.

“We need the corporate organizations to come and see what we are doing here. The government too need to be here to see our unique way of preaching peace, harmony and organizational productivity among the youths," he said.

Since it started business a few years back, Mimi's Autoserve has become Warri town's most popular one stop entertainment spot. The place parades a restaurant, open air bar, etc in the heart of Warri town.
