Musicians Must Emulate Fela’s Legacy—Fuji Star, Malaika
Fuji music star, King Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, fondly called 'Malaika', has hammered on the need for artistes in Nigeria to take a cue from the legacy of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, if they aim to be celebrated after death like him (Fela).
The self-acclaimed 'Imekun of Fuji' made this known recently during his sterling performance at the 2015 Felabration held in Lagos.
"Everyone should take a cue from the late Fela as far as you are a musician in Nigeria. Years after Fela's death, people still celebrate him in a great deal. It shows that his intentions while alive were positive", Malaika said.
The Fuji lord thrilled guests for over an hour on stage dishing out songs from his latest album, 'Super Star', which also features Olamide.
The Jagaban of Fuji music also urged the Fuji fraternity to brace up with a similar thing for late Fuji maestro, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister called Barrybration to celebrate his anniversary.
He also used the platform to give teasers from his next album titled 'Original'.
