Kidnappers Demand N25 Million to Release Teachers
On October 12th, three teachers at Agba-Ndele Community Secondary School in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State were kidnapped. The kidnappers have sworn that they can only release this teacher after a ransom of N25 million is paid.
These teachers are Joseph Dimpa, Martina Ofuru, and Charity Mbajike. A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Obinna Duru and a security guard, Jonathan Woforu, were also abducted.
The kidnappers contacted one of the village chiefs of Ndele Community but the Paramount Ruler of Ndele Community, Eze Godwin Iransi, said the community had no such amount of money to pay, while pleading that they should be released unconditionally, for the sake of God and humanity.
He is pleading that, at least, for the sake of God and for the sake of humanity, release those four persons. Two of them are women and two of them are men. How can you take women to God knows where? He asked and said that they took them through the Sembrero River.
