Aba Business Man Killed by Native Doctor's Concoction

Operatives of the Homicide section,Enugu Police Command have arraigned Afam Nweke and Victor Agyula, an alleged native doctor, from Alaede, in Benue State over the murder of Sunday Onwe, who hails from Amuri in Nkanu-West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The decease, who wanted his ailing business to be revitalize was told to come to Enugu for the ritual.

Newstrack learnt that the victim left Aba for Enugu on June 22, to meet with Afam Nweke, who was already waiting with the native doctor to perform the necessary rituals as they agreed to re-enact his business in Aba.

When he got to the place, the unsuspecting Nweke was told to drink a concocted liquid mixed with acid, it was used to wash the victims body after which he fell unconscious and the native doctor , Afam and other collaborators in the heinous crime carted away with his Toyota Avalon car, his hand-sets and the sum of N430,000, which he had brought down from
Aba out of the sales he had made the previous day.

Nweke who later gain consciousness was rescued by a good Samaritan and was rushed to University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Ituku Ozallawhere he narrated his ordeal but could not survive the incident because the acid has damaged his organs.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, who confirmed the incident in a release, the deceased was made to drink a liquid concotion suspected to have been prepared with acid.
Afam Nweke was apprehended on September 13 by the state criminal intelligence and investigations department .

He was investigated and later arraigned before a law court for conspiracy and murder, and currently on remand while the native doctor, who was also at large after the incident, was arrested at Markurdi, Benue State, on September 24”, Police spokesman revealed.
