Beauty we often say, comes from the beholder but for Mrs. Leslie Okoye, the founder of CookieSkin®, she believes the modern day definition of beauty should not be based on unattainable standards or media trends.

Okoye says “beauty is confidence," but how confident are women today? In their own skin?
The rate at which some ladies are 'bleaching' their skins because of lack of confident is really alarming.

On that note, the pretty woman who is also the CEO of L'Okoye Cosmetics teamed up with the, very confident and beautiful Nollywood star, Funke Akindele aka 'Jenifa' to support the #BeautyIsConfidence campaign.

Funke Akindele better known as Jenifa encourages women to adopt healthy skin care habits and to love the skin they are in, saying “every woman is special.”
Supporting the postion of Miss Akindele, Ghana's top actress and TV host Ama K Aberese also joined the CookieSkin campaign in order to encourage self-esteem amongst African women by Saying no to bleaching campaign.
Another beautiful diva, Slyvia Nduka, former Miss Nigeria also gave her nod to the movement. The beautiful ladies are full of life and confidence, striving to make a difference in society.
Speaking on what birthed the 'CookieSkin campaign, The CEO and mother of two said her struggle to maintain a healthy radiant even skin tone gave birth to CookieSkin, a holistic skincare line for women of color that is hydroquinone, mercury, steroids and bleach free.
"I could be making way more money if my creams could transform women from dark to light or yellow. But I believe there must be women out there like me who know that bleaching is bad for their skin and just want healthy, fresh, flawless and radiant skin. Join the Beauty Is Confidence," she added.
