Nigerian Artistes are Not Creative…Paul Play Dairo
Paul Play Dairo, may have been off the music radar for a while but the versatile producer and singer, does not seems satisfied with the way the present crop of artistes copy themselves rather than do something new.
The singer, who is currently promoting his song, 'Fool in love,' stated that musicians are now lucky because they have the private sector involvement in the industry compared to their time.
He stressed that the reasons why people complain that Nigerian music sounds alike is because there is no creativity as everyone is now chasing money.
In his words with Vanguard, “I think there is a great improvement. I think the guys out there now are very lucky, because when we started we didn't have all the support from corporate bodies. People say Nigerian music sounds the same because everybody is chasing the money, but leaving creativity out.
“Have you checked out any top ten countdowns in Nigeria? The songs are always the same. You can't find highlife, juju and other genres of music in it. I think the solutions is to actually encourage upcoming acts to do other genres of music.”
