24th August, 2015, will ever remain a big day in the life of Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, as she added another year to her age all thanks to God for the life preservation.

The key note about her celebration is that she has a large fan base and almost got everyone having her picture on their various social media pages all sending out a birthday shout out.

One of the messages that stood out was from popular on-air-personality, Toolz Oniru, after she appreciated the actress for helping put smiles on the face of her mother who had always wanted to meet her.

Toolz stated that she was not her mum's favourite child and in a bid to win her heart over, she decided to get Funke come to the house and when she eventually agreed to come, things changed as her mother was so happy to finally meet her.

According to her, “So let me tell you a little story. My mum is a HUGE fan of Funke's and I kept thinking if I was able to surprise my mum with a visit from Funke, I would definitely be her favourite child (middle child issues). One day I bumped into Funke at church and I told her my mum's at home, and would she mind stopping by to say hello? Without hesitating she said yes. To cut a long story short, she made my mum so happy that day, and I will never forget that. God bless you on your special day!”
