The Nigerian film industry, if the truth must be bluntly told, is gradually losing its taste and if care is also not taken, the industry will be a thing of the past. From the look of things, producers and filmmakers are short of ideas and confused as well. Originality is no more and other sectors in the entertainment industry, even comedy, are gradually being treated as more serious than the movie industry.

In recent times, filmmakers in Nollywood have shown to the world that they no more have something good to offer, which has given rise to the garbage they now churn out as films.

Or how do one explain the use of actors like Funke Akindele, Ini Edo, Mercy Johnson, Queen Nwokoye, Osuofia as primary and secondary school pupils? No doubt, they are indirectly telling movie buffs that they (film buffs) are senseless and daft.

If these faces must be featured in a movie, why not get them roles that fits them and not insulting the people's intelligence. Does it mean there are no kids and teenagers to act children roles in films?

The fact that these 'respected' actors took such child roles only shows that the industry is broke as well as these actors. If not, they would have rejected such scripts.

It is like telling a Joke Silva, Bukky Ajayi, Pete Edochie, Olu Jacobs and the likes to accept roles of school pupils.

The future of Nollywood, effortlessly built by some people few years ago, is in the hands of these producers. Many only hope it is not finally crumbled by some 'empty headed' and greedy producers.
