Pastor Narrates How Offering Thief Was Caught

The Pastor of Christ Apostolic Church, Egor Local Government Area in Edo State, Rev. Igbinigie Anthony, has narrated how a man attempted to steal the offerings realised from the church's annual thanksgiving was caught in the act.

Igbinigie, who was cross examined at an Egor Chief Magistrate Court explained that he and the church's youth president, identified as Okoh, had slept in the church in the look-out to nab the thief.

The suspect whose name is Ehiosun Junior, was said to have broken into the church to steal on three different occasions. The suspect is said to have made away with N52,000 in total.

Ehiosun, was said to have made away with N40,000 at his first break-in in the church but returned later to ask the church to forgive him and ask for God's forgiveness.

Igbinigie said this made him and Okoh sleep in church because he suspected that he would return to steal the offerings.

Meanwhile, Ehiosun has been docked and arraigned on a four-count charge to which he pleaded not guilty.
