What Buhari Told America On Same $ex Marriage
Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently in the United States of America (USA), where he went to meet President Barak Obama, has stressed that there is no way Nigeria can succumb to pressure to accept same $ex marriage.
During a discussion with the joint session of Senate and House Committees on Foreign Affairs, the issue was raised but Buhari was stern in his stand on the matter.
According to the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina, Buhari maintained that sodomy is against the law in Nigeria and abhorrent to the culture.
“The issue of g@y marriage came up here yesterday. PMB was point blank. Sodomy is against the law in Nigeria, and abhorrent to our culture.
“The same $ex marriage issue came up at the joint session of Senate and House Committees on Foreign Affairs, not in direct talks with Obama. Talks shifted to another matter once PMB emphatically stated Nigeria's stand on same $ex marriage. The issue was not pushed,” he said.
