I’m Not Enjoying Life As A VÎrgin—Sexy Singer, Adokiye Confesses
Keeping one's pride as a woman is a difficult thing to do in this generation. When a lady known to still have hers, she is ridiculed by her peers, and sometimes, after much pressure, she loses it.
In 2014, after the kidnap of over 200 school girls in Chibok, Borno State, Nigerian singer, Adokiye Kyrian, who claimed she was 'still intact', promised to lose it to the Boko Haram militants who abducted the girls only if they vow to free the girls in exchange.
This made many tongues to wag, with some saying that the peace ambassador and actress was only looking for public attention.
But chatting with Vanguard recently, Adokiye expressed her frustration at not having fun as a woman. She disclosed that she might decide to lose it, adding that she has been under severe pressure. The singer also said she is being laughed at by some people.
“I will let that go soon (meaning her vrginity)”, she said, with a wry smile. “What's the point of having all the endowment and not enjoying life as a woman?” she asked, adding that “people are beginning to call me names, like mumu and all.”
“I have been thinking lately, you know, though my mind is not made up yet. I'm 25 this year. Yes, I guess I'm human. Don't get it twisted. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing but each time I want to make that move, I get scared because I know once it's gone, it's gone,” she hinted.
When asked if she has found a guy, she said, “They always push, push, push and push. Don't you know men? Aren't you a man? Man, I'm so scared.”
"Don't forget about the Reverend Sisters. You know I'm a staunch Catholic. I was almost going to be one anyways during high school days. I grew up around Reverend Sisters and at some point I told my mum I wanted to become one,” she stated.
