A Nomansland Magistrates' Court, Kano State, on Tuesday, remanded in prison custody, a 29-year-old commercial sex worker, Chioma Okoro, for allegedly pouring hot water on another sex worker over a customer.

Okoro, who resides at Ijebu Road, Sabon Gari Kano, is facing a three-count charge of inciting disturbance, causing grievous bodily hurt and criminal intimidation.

The Magistrate, Mrs Aisha Yahaya, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody until when the court was satisfied that the complainant was responding to treatment.

She adjourned the case till May 11 for further mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Corporal Ekainu Elias, told the court that Chioma Ohanaka, also of Ijebu Road, Sabon Gari, Kano, had on April 18 reported the assault on her at the Sabon Gari Police Division, Kano.
