Olamide Sober Reflection About Da Grin

Olamide is one rap artiste who has become a favourite with many music lovers in Nigeria after the wide acceptance of his song, 'Eni Duro' which he released some years back.

He has become a household name in the rap industry in that some upcoming rappers might have started adopting his style of music. He, however, has revealed those that paved the way for him to become a superstar in the game.

In his chat with on 'The Truth', the artiste expressed his disappointment in never meeting with the late Da Grin, whom many have adjudged to pave way for indigenous rappers.

"Da Grin did pave the way for people like me. Lord of Ajasa paved the way as well. This whole thing is a movement and it has to keep going on. Every new set of artistes that come out will pave way for the next generation."

He is signed on to his on record label, Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) which boast of others acts such as Lil Kesh, Viktoh, Ade Gold, Chinko Ekun and Xino Kuti.

Da Grin whose real name is Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, was the rapper whom many have dubbed as the father of Yoruba rap music. He dropped hit songs like 'Pon Pon Pon', 'Kondo' off his best selling album, Chief Executive Omoita (CEO) in 2010. He died at the age of 22 on 22 April 2010 in a car accident.
