In 2011, the wedding of talented and sultry Nollywood star, Mercy Johnson generated heated controversies to the extent of attracting a protest from some aggrieved women, who felt the actress was wrecking another woman's home to build her own home.

Even the Chris Oyakhilome-led Christ Embassy Church, which eventually performed the marriage rite at its branch in Ikeja, Lagos, was highly criticised and Oyakhilome almost lost his respect in Nigeria because his church went ahead with the wedding ceremony.

The crux of the matter back then was that Mercy Johnson was getting married to another woman's husband.

When news first hit the media about Mercy Johnson's wedding, her teeming fans, which cut across several sphere of life, were happy for her because the Kogi State-born script interpreter has always put smiles on their faces through her scintillating acting prowess.

But her choice of man as husband almost made most of Mercy Johnson's fans turn against her.

A Canada-based woman simply named Lovely had claimed that Mercy Johnson's husband, Odi Okojie, an Edo State-born businessman, was her husband and that she bore him children.

However, Okojie denied the allegation.

At a point, there were speculations that the wedding would be cancelled, but against all odds, Mercy Johnson and Okojie were joined together as husband and wife on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at a Christ Embassy Church in Ikeja, Lagos amidst water tight security.

Thereafter, Mercy Johnson was tagged by the media and some of her fans as a 'husband snatcher', which some people say Nollywood is reputed for.

But almost four years after the wedding, some fans of the actress are yet to forgive the mother of two for allegedly wrecking the happiness of another woman.

It has been observed that till now, Mercy Johnson is still being regarded as a husband snatcher.

Some of fans who make comments on online posts concerning her still express their frustration over the actress' decision in going ahead to be Mrs Okojie.

When will she be forgiven? This is one question that might not get a favourable response anytime soon.
