Some angry residents in Benue State burnt an armed robber to ashes over the weekend.

The alleged robber was said to be among a group of men who robbed a bank over the weekend in the state.

Although the Police in the state were alerted about the robbery, they reportedly swung into action, engaging the men in a gun battle, but they all escaped.

Unfortunately, their car broke down in a village and escaped, but one of them, who allegedly had a bullet wound from a gun duel with the police, could not continue with them.

He was reportedly pounced on by the villagers, who put tyres on him and set him ablaze despite his plea for mercy.
