Why Nigerian Models are Poor…Yvonne Ekwere
A source in the know in a brief chat with Nollywoodgists.com has revealed that modeling in Nigeria is actually a mess as it is being used to lure girls into prostitution.
The source stated organizations come in pretense to be hosting a beauty pageant and some of these ladies that are said to be winners are picked and given to high society people as s3x toys and are paid in turn.
She explained that despite the money being paid to these ladies after their night jobs, they still have to drop a large percentage for those that stand as their managers.
In a bid to sanitize the Nigerian modeling industry and make it lucrative and respectable business, top Nigerian model, Yvonne Ekwere through the newly launched Kanu Nwankwo's photo studio which is aimed at discovering young and talented models in the country, said that there was need to ensure that models are discovered and are respected.
Ekwere stated that modeling jobs are not being respected in Nigeria yet and there was need for every model in the country to be able to boast of a decent living and a good account of themselves. “Models in Nigeria are not respected and some models cannot even boasts of good amount of money in their accounts.”
