On Sunday, February 1, 2015, a candlelight procession was organised to mourn the death of a popular Nollywood actor, Muna Obiekwe.

The event was attended by many practitioners in Nollywood as well as some members of the media.

Also at the occasion was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje. He was accompanied to the event by his running mate, Alhaja Surafat Abdulkareem.

Speaking at the event, which took place at the Ojez Restaurant, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Agbaje charged leaders in the industry to do everything possible to immortalise their dead colleagues.

Agbaje said this is what is done in Hollywood, where their fallen stars are immortalised so as to keep their memories alive.

"God knows best. Fulfilment in life is about the lives touched. Muna has gone too soon at 35. Muna has done all that he needs to do. May his soul rest in perfect peace. I will urge you to do something in immortalising your dead heroes just as Hollywood does. Keep the memory alive for generations to come," he said when called upon to speak.

Some of those resent at the occasion were Ibinabo Fiberesima, wife of the late actor, Ejiro Okurame, Sony McDon, Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo, Arinze Okonkwo and other veterans.
