An adage in Yoruba loosely says, 'it is better to have a bad wife from good in-laws than a good wife from bad in-laws because when the in-laws are bad and do not want you, life could be miserable and marriage is as good as dead.'

In Africa, especially in Nigeria, parents always wish their children get married to the best partners, who must be intact financially, intellectually and physically.

There have been cases where parents have prevented their children from getting married to a physically challenged person.

Cobhams Asuquo is one music producer that is well respected in the Nigerian music industry. He worked hard to become successful in the showbiz world despite his challenges.

Some years ago, he got married to his beautiful wife, but some people may have wondered what attracted the lady to Cobhams and how her parents reacted when she first introduced the music producer to her parents as her future husband.

Cobhams, who is a multiple award-winner, said during a live programme on TVC's 'Your View', which was monitored by Nollywoodgists.com, that his in-laws welcomed him like their own son and never made him feel bad in any way despite being visually impaired.

He added that his in-laws are not in the school of thought of parents who interfere in the choices of their children.
