2015: Jonathan Meets Private Investors In Nigeria
Driving his re-election campaign train beyond the terrain of social, entertainment, sports and agricultural sectors, President Goodluck Jonathan, on Sunday, January 25, 2015, had an interactive session with members of the private sector at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
The meeting, according to information gathered, was to rub minds with the business moguls on how to drive the economy forward.
The President spoke of his administration's effort in tackling the menace of corruption.
The Minister of Finance, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, commended Jonathan for the foresight to develop accelerated diversification agenda against the present global slump in oil prices, highlighting that the service, agriculture, industries, telecoms and Nollywood sectors are generating revenue for the country aside the oil revenues.
She also revealed that the annual creation of 1.8 million jobs has already provided 1.2 million jobs for Nigerians.
Present at the occasion were Governors Liyel Imoke of Cross River and Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Oba Otudeko, Jim Ovia, Peter Obi, Boni Haruna, Ifeanyi Uba, Atedo Peterside.
Also at the event were Petroleum Minister, Mrs Deziani Alison-Madueke; Agriculture Minister, Dr Akinwunmi Adeshina; Power Minister, Prof Chinedu Nebo; Trade and Investment Minister, Dr Olusegun Aganga and Works Minister, Arc. Mike Onolememen.
