Three years after the wife of former Nigerian International goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare died of breast cancer, the ex-footballer has been diagnosed with the same illness.

Agbonavbare, an ex-Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper is currently at a Spanish hospital where he is undergoing treatment for yet to be disclosed type of cancer.

He was a member of Nigeria's U-21 Mexico 1983 Flying Eagles, 1984 AFCON silver medalist and 1994 AFCON gold medallist.
