It has been confirmed to Nollywoodgists.com that popular actress, Funke Akindele, fondly called 'Jenifa' by her teeming fans, will kick off her own reality show in 2015.

In a statement issued on Monday and made available to us by her media management, Benchmark Media Limited, it was also disclosed that the talented role-interpreter will start the Jenifa TV series in 2015.

“We are doing a talk show, it has been in the offing for so long, now it is coming out of the can. It is a reality show that will touch the nerve of our socio-political existence, it is beautifully scripted. To me, it is a gift of laughter, knowledge, and enlightenment to my fans and lovers of good art," Funke Akindele was quoted in the statement to have explained.

Speaking on the Jenifa TV series, the actress said, "I actually wanted the character to take a deserving rest but I'm amazed that many years after, the Jenifa's character still resonates. Anywhere I go, it is welcome, and people love to see, hear that part of Jenifa in me.

“I want to believe that my portrayal of Jenifa this time will be loved more by the viewers of the drama series. There will be more chemistry with co-actors. I must quickly add that a good number of actors in the original Jenifa are involved; alongside new faces and that will be the highlight of the show.”

To keep her fans busy before these programmes are finally unveiled, the actress released some of her stunning photographs.

Funke Akindele has grown from that inexperienced actress to a skilled script-interpreter. She is one of the hottest cakes in the movie industry in Nigeria at the moment. She now moves from one movie location to the other and most films she features in are blockbusters.

Even though some movie buffs saw the star in her when she acted in the now rested 'I Need To Know' TV series many years ago, she manifested this when she acted in her self-produced film titled Jenifa, from where she later derived her nickname.

In 2014, Funke Akindele raked major endorsement deals and won several awards.
