This piece of news may excite some Nigerian artiste who are members of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) as the body is set to pay royalties to them for the use of their works by some organisations.

Information made available to Nollywoodgists.com revealed that a meeting between COSON and its members will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Oranmiyan Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, after which the distribution of the royalties will begin.

This would be the fourth time in a row that COSON will be paying some amount of money to the artistes since its inception in 2010.

COSON has been battling with some organisations who use intellectual materials of its members without paying royalties. Some of the organisations have been dragged to court on the issue.
