Residents of the Ubiekpo Abor community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State are still in shock after waking up to hear the news of a boy, simply identified as Uchechukwu, who allegedly pierced a sharp object into his mother's body, which left her dead. The stabbed his mum, Eunice Ugwuozor to death.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, Uche's mother, Eunice Ugwuozor, was reportedly fast asleep when her son allegedly sneaked in and stabbed her around 5am.

The accused reportedly abandoned the mother's lifeless body in the house and fled before he was eventually arrested.

It was reported that the suspect has an unresolved psychological problem.

Amaraizu disclosed in a statement that “operatives of the State Criminal Investigations Division of the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force have commenced a full scale investigation to unravel the mystery and circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing to death of the woman by the son.”

Though police authorities are still trying to unravel what led to the ugly incident, but it was gathered that the perpetrator is currently cooling his heels at the station.

Meanwhile, the remains of the victim had since been deposited at the Our Saviour Hospital mortuary at 9th Mile area of the state.
