Recently MTV base released a list of 20 top Nigerian songs of all time and in the list included, 2face's African queen, D'banj's Oliva twist, 9ice's gongo aso, Psquare, Wizkid's holla at your boy, Davido, dami duro, Ice prince, Oleku, D'banj, why me, M.I, safe, Olu Maintain, Yahooze, Naeto C, Kini big deal, Davido, Skelewu, Banky W, Lagos party, Wizkid, Pakorumo, Asa, Jailer, Psquare, Chop my money, Wande Coal, bumper to bumper, Dr Sid, Surulere, Flavour, Nwa baby, Kcee, Limpopo.

Ace music artiste Eedris Abdulkareem slammed MTV for excluding his song from the greatest Naija songs list and said God will punish whoever directed the research of the list. He also slammed them for excluding Fela's song from the list.

Actor and Gulder Ultimate Search anchor Chidi Mokeme has also voiced out on the MTV list as he said they complied a list and yet Fela's song wasn't there. He said the list should be titled top 20songs of now time and not of all time.

However the actor agreed that D'banj song Oliva twist and 2face's African queen were worth being on the list. He fears that if his son should see the list, he might think these artistes listed made impact than Fela. He asked Nigerians to help them compel another song, because the one they did was not worth it at all.
