Femi Kuti Takes Son To Grandparent’s Gravesite In Abeokuta
How time flies! It is already 18 years since the demise of Nigerian music and Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
However, sons of the late musician, Femi and Seun Kuti, have kept the torch burning since the death of their father. They have ensured that the legacy their father left behind has not vanished. Also, the Shrine Fela created has also been bubbling with different activities.
Recently, Femi took his son, Made, to see the gravesite of his great-grandparent, who was prominent figure in Nigeria back in the days.
Femi's grandmother, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, was the first woman to drive a car in Nigeria.
Femi said, “18yrs gone by since the passing of our father Fela, he still inspires us, we miss him, we love him. (I) took my son, Made, to pay his respects to his great grandparent's grave side today in Abeokuta and to know a bit of history.”
