Nkiru Sylvanus Defends Governor Rochas Okorocha

In late November 2012, Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus, lost her appointment as the special assistant to Governor Rochas Okorocha on Lagos Matters.

The Abia state born actress seems to have been battling several people since her appointment in 2011, who felt she didn't deserve the position as a non-Imo state indigene and also because they felt the appointment was meaningless and unnecessary as they didn't understand her job specification.

They also felt she got the appointment because of her 'friendship' with the governor and not because she knew anything about running a public office. These people worked tirelessly to get her out of government house which they eventually succeeded. The actress returned to Nollywood after being relieved of her job and bounced back in a new Nollywood movie titled “The Voice”.

All things being equal, it's like she knows how to pray well as Nkiru appears to have gotten a new appointment in Imo state government. This is because, Imo Governor, Rochas Okorocha has disclosed plans to set up a befitting Film Academy in Owerri, thereby appointing the actress Director General of the Academy to do oversight functions of ensuring judicious use of finance and other logistics.

Nkiru Sylvanus defending her golden opportunity, said she is not the first person that will get an appointment outside her state. Adding that Governor Rochas Okorocha is not a tribalist.

She said he gives everybody the chance irrespective of where anyone came from. She praised his work, stating he is a man that gives opportunities to any dedicated fellow.
