Nigerian comedian, Emmanuel Adigwe better known as D'Lectura, to some is a house hold name as he has been able to register his brand amidst top comedians in the country.

Recently, D'Lectura disclosed that he was once embarrassed at an event in Lagos while on stage because he was yet to hit the punch-line of his joke.

According to him, embarrassment is what one should expect as a comedian because not all audience can be satisfied with the jokes.

“As a comedian, if you've never been embarrassed on stage before, that means you have not started. The first was in 2004 by a partially drunk white dude at Meridian Hotel, now NICON Luxury Hotel, Victoria Garden City, Lagos, where Ali Baba used to have his comedy club.

“I was actually doing a lengthy joke and before I could hit my punch-line, while others were listening, this drunk white dude interrupted and said, 'you have been talking and no one seems to be laughing… its funny to me… come on come on' He started clapping while others burst into laughter.

“It was so embarrassing that a colleague of mine, De Don, took another microphone and started descending on him,” he said.

The comedian further praised his colleagues who have been dedicated in taking the trade to another height in Nigeria and all over the world especially with the level of crowds it commands.

“Nigerian comedians are doing great; I can proudly say we are among the best in the world. At least, we have been commanding a lot of accolade from within and outside the continent. I'm proud to be one of the country's comedians,” he disclosed.
