Weddings are event where elegance meets fashion. Most people pay special attention to what they wear to wedding ceremonies so as not to be disgraced or embarrassed by their outfits.

In the western part of Nigeria today, it is a common thing to have a uniformed wear called 'aso ebi' for whatever event, and trust, people, especially ladies, want to be trendy to the event in order to grace some fashion publications which some fashion designers have made to be their guides.

When it comes to events that have to do with celebrities or public figures, many are very careful of what they wear because members of the press will be present to sniff for news stories, especially fashion critics.

On Sunday, July 27, 2014, one of Mavin Records' artistes, Dr Sid, had his traditional wedding with his lover, Osomo, and stars trooped out to celebrate the day with them. Also on parade was Dr Sid's label mate, Di'Ja, whose outfit to the party was rather 'questionable'.

Her style for the 'aso ebi' seems off point as she was dressed like someone going to the market to buy soup ingredients, rather than for a glamorous wedding ceremony. It was learnt that Di'Ja's dress was designed by Zenipatti, while her makeup was done by Buchi Akpati.

Maybe next time, after reading this, she will learn to dress properly for an event, and not to the market.
