The House of Representatives has directed its Committee on Judiciary to investigate an allegation of abuse of office levelled against an Abuja-based Justice Danlami Sanchi by an Abuja-based businesswoman, Habiba Abubakar.

The philanthropist had asked the National Judicial Council (NJC) to probe Justice Sanchi, but this did not get a green light, which forced Habiba to take her matter to the National Assembly via a petition.

Some days ago, her prayer was granted and the Committee on Judiciary was directed to look into the matter and report back to the House.

Recall that Senchi is the same judge who has insisted that he has jurisdiction over the case involving a Kaduna-based publisher, TukurMamuand the FCT minister and we learnt that he has already gotten two queries in file.
