The world mourns as poet, author, activist, historian, and actress, Angelou Maya passes away today, 28th of May, 2014. She was born in the year 1928, and has inspired the world with her inspirational works.

The legendary and remarkable woman died this morning at her North Carolina home.

It is believed that she had recently been battling health problems as she canceled an appearance where she was going to be honored with the Beacon of Life Award at the 2014 MLB Beacon Award Luncheon on May 30th in Houston, Texas.
