Kunle Afolayan's new movie production, 'October 1,' is arguably one of the most anticipated flicks of the year after it won an award at the prestigious International Movie Trailer's Festival's (IMTF) 2013 in the Best Fiction Trailer category.

The trailer and behind the scenes photos released late last year, gave a sneak peek at the movie, centered around Nigeria's Independence.

On Sunday, 18th May 2014, Golden Effect Pictures, in partnership with Terra Kulture, held a private screening of the movie at Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The movie stars Kunle Afolayan, Sadiq Daba, Kenneth Okonkwo, Fabian Adeoye Lojede, Demola Adedoyin, David Baile, Kayode Olaiya, Kehinde Bankole and Nick Phys.

Deola Sagoe plays the role of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.
