Don’t Snub Journalists—Biodun Kupoluyi Warns Celebrities
Actors in Yoruba genre of the movie industry in Nigeria have been warned against shunning journalists. This charge was given by seasoned entertainment journalist and publisher of E247 Magazine, Biodun Kupoluyi.
Kupoluyi gave this warning to the actors during a retreat organized by The Movie Ambassadors (TMA), held from April 4 to 6, 2014 at Badagry, Lagos.
According to the award-winning pen pusher, who spoke on 'Movie and the Media; A special reference to the use of social media', said members of the Fourth Estate should not be snubbed by celebrities “because they are hungry for news.” He further advised actors to “always do interviews and be ready to meet with people.”
Speaking further, Kupoluyi urged celebrities to judiciously make use of the social media platforms to promote themselves. “Make sure you always write about yourself on social media. Tweet about movie locations, buildings and your day to day activities,” he advised.
The respected journalist also urged celebrities to always make sure they comport themselves well in public, noting that they should have it at the back of their minds that “someone is out there looking up to you”.
