Someone once analysed that, if the proceed realized from the oil windfall of this country is to be shared, each citizen will receive nothing less than N10,000 a week but an average Nigerian leaves on less than a dollar per day. Hmm, the leadership of the country, to me, do not really care about the masses.

The people whose primary objective is to serve the electorate, the people that put them into power, have since left that assignment for the masses, the electorate are been starved while the law makers are being served.

Well, as presented by a friend, and one of the agents of change in Nigeria based abroad, Mr. Nwachukwu, he gave a break-down of each law maker's salary.

If you didn't want to have anything to do with Nigerian politics, you probably will after reading this. Here's a breakdown of a Nigerian senator's MONTHLY salary:

Basic Salary (BS) = N2,484,245.50

Hardship Allowance: 50% of Basic S...alary = N1,242,122.75

Constituency allowance: 200% of BS = N4,968,509.00

Furniture Allowance: 300% of BS = N7,452,736.50

Newspaper allowance: 50% = N1,242,122.70

Wardrobe allowance: 25% = N621,061.37

Recess Allowance: 10% = N248,424.55

Accommodation: 200% = N4,968,509.00

Utilities: 30% = N828,081.83

Domestic Staff: 35% = N863,184.12

Entertainment: 30% = N828,081.83

Personal Assistance: 25% = N621,061.37

Vehicle Maintenance Allowance: 75% = N1,863,184.12

Leave Allowance : 10% = N248,424.55

One off payments (Severance gratuity): 300% = N7,452,736.50

Motor Vehicle Allowance: 400% of BS = N9,936,982.00

Total per MONTH = N29, 479, 749.00.

All this, excluding other financial scams that go on in the Lower and Upper houses of Legislature are what they earn on a monthly basis. And in case you have no clue, Nigerian politicians are the most well-paid in the WORLD. Do I see someone putting up campaign posters already?

Please pass the message to every Nigerian, and citizens of the world will get to see the sort of decay and the extent of man's inhumanity to man from the perspective of leadership.

It is about time well meaning Nigerians wake up from their coma-like deep slumber and hold their elected representatives accountable. Enough of the manipulation, wayo, jibiti, lie-lie, wuruwuru and magomago that go on in LIEgeria.
