The former group editor of Vanguard Newspaper, Amadi Ogbonnaya will on October 12, 2012 be finally laid to rest. The burial will take place at his Okagwe, Ohafia, Abia state hometown.

On October 5, 2012, a tribute night would be held in his honour in Lagos. Already, an account has been open for his burial by some of his friends.

Meanwhile, the last son of Amadi, Ben, has been given an educational scholarship to the university level. This gesture was made possible by Ben Murray Bruce of Silverbird Group. He did this when he paid the family of the departed Amadi in Lagos.

Ben, who is aged 6, was named after Ben Murray-Bruce, a close associate of Amadi.

Amadi died on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 after an asthmatic attack. This happened when he was on production at Vanguard office in Lagos.
