A Thief passenger on Abuja- Lagos bound “Arik” airplane on 4th April instant
A mild drama played out yesterday at the Murtala Mo-hammed Airport, Lagos when one of the passen-gers of Arik Air (names withheld) was accused of stealing a co-passenger's N200, 000 while onboard the aircraft. The aircraft had de-parted the Nnamdi Aziki-we International Airport, Abuja to MMA. Both pas-sengers were on the business class of the airline when the alleged incident occurred. A source close to the airline confided in Nation-al Mirror that the accused passenger had stood up in the aircraft, opened the overhead cabin, as if he was searching for missing items in his luggage, but allegedly picked the N200, 000 belonging to another passenger in the cabin.
Unfortunately for him, the accused was sighted by other passengers in the cabin when he alleg-edly stole the money and attempted to divert it into his own luggage.
The passengers were said to have immediately informed the cabin crew members of the develop-ment, who, our correspon-dent gathered, swung into action immediately by ac-costing the male suspect, who occupied seat 3C in the aircraft.
On touching down at the Lagos Airport, the passenger was immedi-ately reported to security officials of the airline who transferred him to the avi-ation security personnel of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
