Tensions are getting high as the election to executive positions of Actors' Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on March 17 draws near.

One of the people running for an executive is Yakubu Abubakar, the outgoing National PRO of AGN.

Yakubu told Nollywoodgists.com that he has decided to serve AGN in the next dispensation in the capacity of the National Secretary of the guild.

Excclusively disclosing to Nollywoodgists.com, the ABU Zaria graduate of Dramatic Arts said he was willing to take AGN, especially with his over two decades of acting experience.

ABking, as he is fondly called by colleagues said he has set out 11 points agenda to move AGN forward if elected, which are;

1.     Functional Secretariat that would meet the challenges of AGN
2.     Improved information flow and connectivity with all the state chapters
3.     Access to information 24/7
4.     The secretariat will work to promote unity among members.
5.     Create platform for the protection of the welfare and interest of the members
6.     Organize regular training and retraining programs for members across the country
7.     The Secretariat will create structures for proper monitoring of all practicing actors across the country.
8.     Ensure we provide a code of conduct for all members
9.     Help in improving administrative structures for all the state chapters
10. Encourage better and conducive working conditions for members
11. Ensure we globalize the Guild by affiliating with all relevant organizations and donor agencies to help improve on welfare packages for members in accordance with international best practice.
