Finally the drama that had characterized Mercy Ozioma Johnson's wedding came to a climax last weekend, when she wed Edo businessman Prince Odianosen Okojie in style.

Madam Kofo coordinated proceedings

Glo ambassador,Mrs. Abiola Atanda,popularly known as Madam Kofo,coordinated the traditional marriage(on Friday, August 26,2011) at the Johnsons family house in Iba,Lagos.

The ex-Second Chance cast was contracted by the Johnsons for the job and she protected their interest very well, making sure all the materials demanded from the Okojies were delivered.

Heavy security at venue

Heavy presence of Naval police was felt at the traditional marriage between Mercy Johnson and Odi Okojie.

Mercy's father, Mr.Daniel Johnson, being a retired Naval officer, had sought for heavy security at his house while the ceremony lasted.
From the point of entry to the compound, eagle eyed men of the Navy were everywhere.

Apart from that, about five bouncers followed Odi Okojie around.

Mercy Johnson's no photographer order

The Nollywood actress had given a standing order that no camera man should be allowed near the house, and it was enforced to the letter.
All photo journalists that thronged the venue were disappointed. Those who tried taking the couple's photograph with a Blackberry phone had a sorry tale to tell.

Either their phones were seized or they were bundled out of the place.

Popular figures that graced the traditional wedding

Only few popular faces in the entertainment industry stepped out for the traditional wedding at Mercy's family house in Oke Odan,Iba, Lagos.

Top on the list were female songstress Muma Gee,actress Tricia Eseigbe-Kerry,twin actress Chidinma and Chidiebere Ekene,Rosemary Ingbi and Femi Ogedengbe.

The couples intimidating convoy to the reception

Mercy and Odi Okojie really made a statement with the autos in their convoy. There were two Island Hummers(limos) for the groom and the bridal train.

In sparkling white and escorted by a Voltron security truck, the bride chose a black Jaguar as they made it to 10 Degrees Events Centre, Billingsway, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.

Drama at Christ Embassy Gate

A mentally derailed woman emerged from the bolts to cause a stir at the entrance of Christ Embassy, the venue of the white wedding.

Her grouse, according to her, is that Christ Embassy is known for wedding glorified prostitutes in their church.

She further charged that both the leadership and followership of the church should repent. She held all the security operatives spellbound with her curses and drama.

Rev. Oyakhilome absent

Head Pastor of Christ Embassy Church, Rev.Chris Oyakhilome listed as one of the officiating priests was not around for the nuptials.

We were told the flamboyant preacher was in the United Kingdom for an urgent assignment.

The officiating ministers

Pastor Tom Obiazi led others to join Mercy and Odi at the church.

Others included Pastor Deola Okeowo,Pastor Emerald Andy, Pastor Wole Adisa,Pastor A.T. Adewunmi and Pastor Innocent Njiofor.

And Mercy cried

Obviously overwhelmed by the reported controversy that trailed the wedding of actress Mercy Johnson and the pressure about whether to go ahead with the Saturday, August 27, 2011 nuptials must have resulted in the star actress cry in the church.

Shortly after the clergy asked the actress to pronounce her own line of vows, she broke down in tears. It was all evident to the congregation as she sobbed while her chief bride's maid, a Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson cleaned up her face.

Between Mercy and Genevieve Nnaji

During the colorful traditional marriage, Mercy made short speech : “I am very happy for this day. It is a leap of faith for me and I believe God will be with me. I thank all those that stood by me, my family, friends and team. Today shows that love has triumphed'.

But what broke Mercy down into a mass of tears was the sudden appearance of Genevieve Nnaji. Mercy wept for about five minutes and had to be consoled by many people, including the anchor. Mercy later confided to close friends that Genevieve is her idol and her appearance meant the world to her.

When the couple took to the floor for a dance, the crowd besieged them, making money rain on them. It was reported that Genevieve Nnaji surprised everyone with the large amount of money she sprayed on Mercy.

Heavy surveillance inside the church

Apart from the security details outside the church premises, there was another round of security consciousness inside the church auditorium. Visible surveillance went on inside to check unwanted elements at the wedding.

Mobile policemen were at the church gallery watching from the upper side of the church.

What's missing in the programme

The line, “And if there is anyone among the congregation, who does not want this marriage contracted should signify now or else forever remain silent” was conspicuously missing in the wedding programme distributed at the church premises.

The officiating priest, Pastor Tom Obiaze did not even mention it and it's obvious the church and the two families coming together in marriage did not want any disruption.

Mama G steals the show again

A crowd puller anytime any day, very popular actress Patience Ozokwor was in the house.

Although she couldn't make it to the church, her presence at the reception was visibly noticed as her fans feted her with unequal appreciation.

Everything I said on the pulpit is my position. The marriage has been done, at least you witnessed it. So, I don't see anything wrong about that.
The church never said they are not going to do the wedding. It's the media that has been writing that.

Odianosen Okojie's customary court divorce granted

The customary court sitting in Igueben, Edo State dissolved the traditional marriage between Lovelyn Adaze Aletor and Odianosen Okojie on Tuesday, August 23, 2011.

Presided over by B.E. Imohimi, Esq, there were two other people on the bench.

Mercy and her husband sneaked out of the venue

The party was still on when Mercy and her husband sneaked out of the venue in a private car leaving their Hummer limos and Mercy's Bentley behind so that people would think they were still around.

Reception Venue Owner, Deji Doherty Chased Out Guests, Family Over Fallen Gate!

Guests and family members of newly wedded actress, Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Odianosen that came early to welcome the couple to the venue of the reception got a shocking treatment.

For being inside the venue when the gate of the place was pulled down by mob seeking to gain entry at all cost, 10 Degrees owner, Deji Doherty chased them all out over the development.

A visibly angry Doherty was said to have achieved this with the aid of two fierce looking and gun tottering security operatives.

He described the ejected family members and guests as 'unruly lot' and only allowed them back in when the couple were just minutes to arriving the place.

Doherty's anger stemmed from the uncontrollable character exhibited by the crowd at the gate that resulted in the pulling down of the gate.
