Sam Loco Efeeimwonkiyeke is comic personified - notable for his role in Televista's flagship soap opera, Everyday People. He is something of an institute and easily one of the most engaging Nigerian TV drama actor but he is quick to say he is not a comedian. The actor who talks strongly about training for actors which he has credited for all his success has been acting for over three decades. As seen in 'Everyday People', The stage and screen actor speaks the three major Nigerian Language fluently.

The footballer turned actor earned the name 'Locomotive' from the soccer fields which he later shortened to 'Loco' and has since adopted as his real name.

The actor's first shot at acting came when he took up the challenge by professional actors from Government college, Umuahia who came to the city where he spent his childhood, Abakaliki and performed a play seamlessly without reading their lines from a book/script, stunning him and his friends. He took up the challenge and played Caeser in William Shakespeare's Julius Caeser as a green horn.

The actor, who is about 69 years of age attended several primary schools as he alternated education with street trading to earn enough for school. Later, he went on to become a Theatre art graduate from the University of Ibadan.

The veteran actor was truly cut from TV at about 1960. He came into the limelght playing Langbodo in Nigeria's only drama entry at the festival. He was voted best actor at FESTAC ''77. In 1996, he won three more accolades.

The actor once said he was married to a woman who later died in the United States and he has since moved on to father children from other women. Interestingly, he also expresses support for polygamy and sees it as a softlanding cushion to avoid promiscuity and adultery.

Sam Loco Efe is fulfilled as an actor and in the nearest future, hopes to see a younger actor that would not imitate but attain his level of professionalism as against trading stardom and commerce for creativity.

He is chairman, board of veterans of the Actors guild of Nigeria.
