‘Aki and I are still best of friends
Contrary to insinuation that there is a 'love-lost' between him and his screen twin,Chinedu Ikedieze a.k.a Aki, following last year's national award which was bestowed on the former. Osita Iheme popularly called Paw-paw , has stated that “they are still the best of friends.'
Aki was one of the distinguished Nigerians who were accorded recognition last year by the Federal Government. A gesture which generated controversy as many stakeholders within the the movie sector blamed the Government for failing to extend the same treatment to the other actor.
Revisiting the matter, last Sunday, while in a chat with HVP, Pawpaw said 'I was happy for Chinedu. I have never had any cause to disagree with him, even when he was honoured last year by the Federal Government, I was there to support him. The media gave it a hype just to sell their products.
Pawpaw however expressed optimism that his own award is progress. “I didn't feel bad because I was honoured alongside Aki. I know that my own award is on the way,” he said.
He also explained why Aki was not starred in the wave-making movie, “Mirror Boy” produced by Obi Emelonye , which featured himself alongside Genevieve Nnaji and many other international actor.
According to him, “one of us was supposed to be featured in the movie, and the producer contacted me. I have featured in many movies without him. But there are some roles that would require both of us to be on set.”
