MOVIE ARTISTES AND AGN DUES
This may not be the best of times for the executive members of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). According to sources close Ejike Asiegbu the president of AGN,
the problem the executive members have to grapple with for now is the non payment of annual dues by members of AGN. Our source revealed further, “Obviously, most of these artistes can afford to pay their annual due
which is just five thousand naira but they have refused to pay making it extremely difficult for the guild to be run properly. This I can say is an head ache for Ejike Asiegbu and other members of the executive. On how AGN intends to make its members pay the dues.
Our source hinted www.nollywoodgists.com that since some foreign embassies have made it compulsory for artistes to get letters of recommendation from the guild, there is a standing order that whoever needs such a letter from
AGN must be a bonafide financial member of AGN. Reacting to the issue, Ejike said, “I cannot begin to mention names but most of the popular artiste and
veterans in the industry are yet to pay up there dues to AGN. Some owe as much as three years dues.”
