Abuja Film Festival Underway
The Abuja International Film Festival has officially opened call for entries and will accept submissions internationally for short-length films and feature, including documentary, drama, horror, experimental, animation and all genres of music videos for the 2011 festival slated to hold between 27 and 30 September.
The festival, for some years now, has been internationally recognised as a premiere showcase for creative, inspiring and influential films of all types.
We gathered that this year, the festival is introducing two new categories namely Kidfest and Edufest, targeted at children and student films respectively.
The idea of introducing these categories, according to the initiator, Fidelis Duker, is to stimulate the production of films that affect children, while the Edufest will accept films from student filmmakers globally during the event.
“For the first time, our film festival shall accept music videos from around the world of cross-continent and cross-genre productions. We shall accept music videos of all ranges from pop, funk, rock, alt-country, country-western, folk, reggae, hip-hop, electronica, jazz, blues, zydeco, industrial, gothic, karaoke, avant-garde, world music and experimental,” Duker added.
