SINKING SANDS comes to Nigeria. March 25th
The international blockbuster movie, Sinking Sands which stars Hollywoods own Jimmy Jean Louis of Phat Girlz and Heroes fame, Ama K Abebrese and Nollywoods own Yemi Blaq is set to hit Nigeria theaters staring March 25th 2011.
Sinking Sands is a story about Pabi and Jimah who are a match made in heaven until a disfiguring domestic accident turns their loving marriage into one of violence and daily abuse. Out of guilt, Pabi has endured. But the time has come to make a decision. Pabi will have to choose between love and life, companionship and independence. Stars Jimmy Jean-Louis.
Directed by the award winning Leila Djansi, the UNiFEM endorsed movie was featured on BBC Network Africa as the most expensive movie ever shot in the emerging film industry of Western Africa. The film was endorsed by UNiFEM Ghana for its message of violence against women. It also went on to top nominations for the maiden edition of the Ghana Film Awards where is won the award for Best Picture, Best Picture in West Africa, Best Production Design and Best Costume.
Currently in the festival circuit and represented by the Academy Award Nominated company Traction Media, Sinking Sands will thrill Nigerian audiences as it did Ghanaian audiences. Comments of the "Its the best movie I have seen" from satisfied viewers trailed the movie in the BBC Network Africa coverage.
Sinking is represented in Nigeria by Pan African Film Distributors headed by Joy Ilibeno.
