STELLA DAMASUS RECEIVES VICOLA’S AWARD
Barely few weeks the versatile actress, Stella Damasus-Aboderin returned from London where she received the plaque of honour for Afro-Hollywood Award, 2006, Stella, on Sunday, 17th of December also received an award from Vicola, the American returnee Lagos big boy who sit atop Vicola's Worldwide and V's Bar situated at Ogundana sreet, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
Stella was honoured for her uncommon zeal and penchant love for humanity and her relentless effort and contribution towards the growth of the movie industry that has metamorphosed to Nollywood today.
The impressive but exclusive gathering had some upcoming artistes and dancers thrilling the mother of two and the enigma called Stella was not only enthralled but also had a fun-filled affair.
According to the organizer of the event, Victor Ayo Ola popularly called Vicola, he said Stella was one of the few movie idols he had religiously followed her progress in the industry while abroad. “The Vicola International Recognition Awards is going to become a tradition as veterans in the industry are going to be intermittently honoured. After Stella, I have sent out letters to some notchers who have impressively performed in the entertainment industry. As soon as we get their reply, we will not waste time to roll out the drum on their honour. This is just our own little way to give back to the society.” Vicola rounded off.
Notable faces who honoured the invitation include, Dr. Tokunbo, Hanger of the Cynda Computers, Lanre Oluborode of the Guilder Ultimate Search fame, Frank of the Q- Club, Venus of Cool FM, Tunde Oshinibosi a.k.a La Face. Also present are Tim Godfrey, Tunde Psalmist, Black of the Q, Michael Jeje of Xtacy and others.
