Do Live Bands Improve Nigerian Musicians?
One of Nigeria's indigenous rappers, Jah Bless, has been in the business of making music as far back as the late 90s and he is gearing up for a come back.
The 'Jor o' songster who has been almost unheard of for about two years has revealed that any artiste who cannot perform his or her craft with a live band lacks the substance to be called an entertainer.
While speaking with Premium Times, the artiste revealed that he had grown up and tutored with live band performances during his hey days in the music industry.
He disclosed, "I have always been about live performances. It is the best way to perform. The reasons so many artistes do not do it is because of the sound problem.
"There is a way you can actually control it but you cannot get 100 per cent, just close. I think that is what really shows you as an artiste; if you are an artiste and you cannot do live, I don't think you have the substance.
"Live performance is what I grew up with, what I love doing."
He has finished his latest album work, 'I Am Me" in which he featured superstars Ice Prince, Olamide, Reminisce, Phyno, Oritsefemi, music producer TY Mix and others.
